Christmas again

For gifts for teachers or a few folks I like to bless....... I have decided to bake cookies. I will get cute plates at the Dollar Tree. Everyone will eat a Christmas cookie even if they are watching their weight I decided. Plus it works for men or ladies. I will bake some when my kids are with their dad and bake others WITH my girls. I will keep the baking simple. I will keep this in the back of my mind as I shop and find good deals.

    We like to bake cookies and make candies as gifts, but I find my best ones are the most expensive. (I'm sure there is disagreement on that.) I'll be sure to watch for sales on baking supplies starting before T-giving.

    Check out the 'Mix in a Jar' recipes on my blog. They tend toward the healthy (whole wheat hearty breads, spicy rice) and make healthy gifts. I'll be posting more in the coming weeks. There are 3 recipes already in the 'Homemade' Category.

    Jar mixes sounds great too! I have seen them but have not thought about making them myself.....great ideas!

    The mix in a jar can be really cute if you get just a little bit creative. My son had a teacher who loved the brownies I baked for his birthday. I layered the dry indgredients in a jar and printed out the recipe with other ingredients, baking instructions etc. and labeled it "Chocoholics Emergency Kit". It was a big hit!
