Use your clothesline

October 21st, 2007 at 05:23 pm

Today it is warm-ish and very breezy. So I am using the line today. So far I have dried four loads. Soon to be five. They dry quickly and it is a snap to dry on the line. If you have two trees you can have a decent line. Clothespins are available at the Dollar Tree for a good size bag. I can not say enough about using the free wind and sun. I like to get out there when the weather is like this....I will not use the line come late November or December......I do not line dry in the harsh winter...I just do not like frozen clothes!

Enjoy yor Sunday!

Unfortunately, our area has ordinance against hanging clothes, something about maintaining the aesthetic view of the neighborhood.

I have that same "LAW" in my neighborhood...but I have disregarded it for almost 18 years! The trick is to have your landscsaping hide it! My neighbors on either side do not seem to care either.....they see it a bit but have never said one word. I also do not hang tons of laundry at once......just a bit then once dry I take it down and repeat. I feel if no one realy sees it what is the harm?? I know people hang lines in the basement or spare rooms indoors.....maybe even the garage could work. Good luck with the laundry!

wow 5 loads... and 4 kiddos at home... your amazing!

I like that it saves money and energy, but even more that the clothes smell good, like no chemicals!

    Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the encouragement! The worst part for me is re-making all the beds after washing the sheets.....not my favorite job! Have a great week!

I love the smell of air-dried laundry, isn't it the best?

Line-drying my clothes is my favorite chore.

When people are talking about saving energy, going green, etc. why can't the see that hanging clothes is a good thing? Those neighborhood covenants need to be changed, to allow anyone who wants to hang laundry outside, to do so.

Hanging sheets outside is my favorite! They smell so good, and usually come out pretty wrinkle free.
