Good Bye Mrs Clothesline

November 11th, 2007 at 10:06 pm

I am sad to say but I think the days of line drying for the season are over. I have not removed my line yet....one never knows.....but for the most part line drying is over for now. I am now making some use of garage space till it gets super cold. Hangers help me out in doing garage drying. Farewell Mrs Clothesline.....what a joy you are to have close by to help me save money.

Seems that time of year is approaching, altho where i live temps could climg to 60 degrees, so tomorrow is when i plan to hang what may possibly be my last line of outdoor-dried clothes for the season.

i've found that using one of those little drying racks upstairs will dry them out when i have the heat turned on, tho this year i'm being so stingy with the heat (58 degrees) that may not be enough to dry them.

check out www.laundrylist.org; you'll like that site.

???I use ours all year long as long as it is not raining or below freezing. I have been known to be out hanging laundry with snow on the ground.

I have two large drying racks and a nice rod in my laundry room. I take advantage of the space in my dining room to dry clothes. I miss being outside in the warmth mostly. It is good to not use the dryer when possible.

I echo "mom from missouri". My clothesline is in use all year round. When it is too cold or raining, obviously the dryer comes in handy ... be it the electric one or the folding racks. However, do not think for a moment the clothesline needs to hibernate. Whites are brightened by frost and sheets, well nothing is better than air dried bedding regardless of the season. Be strong my friends!
