Mandatory Work Meeting at 10am

December 17th, 2008 at 12:53 am

We were told today that the president of our company will be driving down from Michigan on Weds morning. The meeting is mandatory. So if you are off on Weds...you have to be at this meeting. So far not one person knows what it is about....kinda scary as when ever there is something happening we usually get a hint. So I am a little concerned----I mean we have less and less residents. But if there was going to be lay off would they tell people privately or on an individual basis?? Hopefully he wants to personally wish us a Merry Christmas--somehow I just do not get that vibe.

Parents are coming for the day to visit and have lunch and bring grandkid Christmas gifts to my children. We will be eating cookies from the cookie exchange.

I will report back to everyone about our big meeting.

    I hope that it's nothing.

When we were told that they were going to close down my company they told us in a group.
We then went in individually to get our end dates and package information.

Hmmm...those type of meetings never sound good. Hope it's nothing bad.

At my company they call a meeting, then pull the layoffs aside individually before the meeting takes place. The laid-off people do not attend. So if your work does like mine, you know you're safe if you make it to the meeting without getting talked to privately.

I hope it turns out to be something not too bad, or even something good!

I am nervous and yet not too nervous.....I will be ready to just let the chips fall where they may.
I did not notice any nervous vibes from my boss....last department meeting when our facilites overseer spoke...my boss knew ahead of time about the jist of the meeting....absolulty no comment from her today.
I mean in reality how can they pay all of us if we are not getting rental income?? We have had some theft issues as well.....I wondered if they might fire everyone and re-hire new people as no one has been caught doing the stealing. I will let you know soon enough.

Sometimes they call a big meeting like that if there has been an important business deal within the company.

Let's all hope for the best!
